Estonian Wine Trail Season Opening 2026 – see the programme and come visit!

On a spring Saturday, May 2, the doors of 20 wineries across Estonia will be opened to visitors. Guests can sample some of the finest drinks and experience the unique story of each winery. Home cafés and restaurants will be open, and visitors can learn more about plant cultivation and beverage production. Explore the winery programs, take your friends with you, and come visit!

What’s happening?

  • Tastings are available everywhere, with new drinks being introduced alongside award-winning favorites. In several wineries, you can also try wines made from Estonian-grown grapes—exclusive, small-batch creations that you won’t find in shops or restaurants, so don’t miss the opportunity.
  • Cafés and restaurants are open in nearly every winery. Wood-fired pizza, smoked fish, and fresh pastries—enjoy local delicacies thoughtfully paired with the drinks on offer.
  • And of course, there are also non-alcoholic options! Lemonades, juices, syrups, and teas crafted by the wineries have been recognized at various beverage competitions and are waiting to be discovered.
  • The opening day of the season is also a treat for gardening enthusiasts. Vineyard experts share valuable knowledge about growing grapevines, berries, fruits, and even flowers. You can also purchase plants to take home.
  • Plus, there’s art, music, and a lively market atmosphere to enjoy.

Please note

Be sure to bring a designated driver along. Non-alcoholic drinks will also be available at every wine house.

Wine house tours are free of charge. Tasting prices vary from one wine house to another, as the number and selection of drinks offered also differ.

Keep an eye on the times in the programmes so you arrive in time for the house tours. If you do not make it exactly on time, no worries – you can relax in the café and enjoy the atmosphere, or spend some time along the way in Estonia’s beautiful countryside. Doors open at 11:00 or 12:00 and close between 14:00 and 18:00 – please check each wine house’s programme. In some places, the evening continues with entertainment and activities.

If you are travelling with a larger group, it is a good idea to let the hosts know a couple of days in advance so they can prepare for your arrival.

How many wine houses would be reasonable to visit? The answer depends on you: if you would like to sleep in and enjoy the opening day at a relaxed pace, visiting three wine houses fits nicely into the day. If, however, you are sporty and goal-oriented, you can fit in more wine houses, especially if you plan carefully ahead. In Southern Estonia, there are more Wine Trail members and visiting opportunities, the wine houses are closer to one another, and the pace can be faster if needed. Take a look at the Wine Trail routes!

Make sure that your chosen wine house is taking part in the event. Seto Siider, Muhu Veinitalu and Valgeranna Veinitall are not participating in the 2026 event.
